The reluctant model

I finally have a couple of WIP's out of the way.  Firstly the jumper for Rufus, to say he was reluctant to put it on was an understatement.  Then when I finally went to take it off of him, he kicked off and wanted to wear it.  Kids who would have them!!  Not the best photos but he didn't want to pose.  It only took 190grams of the Sirdar Demin Sport Aran, so a very cheap knit.  Its plenty and roomy so should last him a while.

Secondly, the Subscribers Blanket

I decided that I didn't like the yarn combo I was using so thought I would abandon it.  Then the youngest asked if I would make a couple of bags to go on bike handle bars.  They are doing the London to Cambridge Cycle ride this weekend, and need somewhere for sweets, tissues etc.  I have happy to oblige, using 4 of the 7 squares I had knitted.  I lined then sewed them up, adding some short straps and buttons and hey presto bike bags

Hope you have a good weekend.  They say the sun is going to shine.  Hope so, got really soaked today, think if this carries on I will grow flippers and gills

  4. Oh that jumper looks so snuggly. My 18 yr old son never wanted to wear handknit jumpers at all as a child and would try and take them off straight away. Sadly he still doesnt like them at all. I think the bike bags are a great idea!

  6. Rufus is the best! I adore seeing what he gets into with you. The sweater is sweet - I like the ribbing and the color. The bike bags are handy - I'd use one for sure!

  7. I figured that jumper would just fly off your needles! It looks wonderful on him (the color is very attractive!) and nice and cuddly too! Such a great granny you are to that little guy!

  9. You could go into business with those bike bags. Very useful and not obtrusive. A good idea to use the otherwise redundant squares. The sweater looks good on Rufus.
