Clearing the decks

The tree and decorations packed away, cards down, leftovers finished, fridge cleared, all that remained was a bowl of lemons and limes, what to do with them?  Most things I thought of was either a pudding or booze, both of which I am trying to cut back on.

Marmalade! I have never tried making this and they were just asking to be made into something, so why not marmalade.  Its quite labour intensive, the peeling, squeezing and chopping took just over an hour, but once the cooking part started it sort of looked after itself.  It tastes wonderful and I'm so pleased I made the effort.

I finished my seamless yoked cardigan

and started another cardigan - a simple V necked cardigan, I'm using Sirdar Denim Tweed acrylic/cotton/wool mix, even found some buttons that match.

Whilst putting the last of the bread out for the birds this morning I spied this little peak of spring.........

Have a good weekend, I hope the weather is kind to you.  We have no plans that I know of, a blank plalette to work with

  3. The cardigan turned out well and is so pretty. I like the way the Denim Tweed is looking (crisp stitch definition). A wise choice to use up the lemons and limes. Not as fattening as the other options. Glad to see that your plants haven't been ruined by the rain. I love the spring, when everything comes back to life.

  7. Your jars of marmalade are so pretty. I have often thought about making marmalade but have never carried through with that thought. I think my ripe lemons are going to be made into lemon curd today. It sounds easier.

The seamless yoked cardigan is adorable!
