Knitting - Blish

I am currently working on a garment for me.  How many times have I said that, then I get along a bit and frog? This one seems to be going well and hopefully I will stay the course.

The pattern is Blish, it's a free one that I found on Ravelry via Pinterest.  Don't you just love all the sources of knitting info/patterns these days?

The yarn I am using is an aran weight tweed effect which came from either Lidl or Aldi its an 80/20 mix, and lovely and soft not scratchy. Giant 400gram balls makes it not too portable but I manage!

I took these photos on Sunday so I am further on but you can get the general idea.

Hoping that this poncho style sweater suits me and doesn't make me look huge, if so, I'm sure someone will take it off my hands.

Rachel and I are off to the Knitting and Stitching show on Saturday, I'm sure I will have something to show you when we get back even if it's just yarn for sweaters for the boys.

  2. I had a look at this pattern after I saw your Facebook post about it. It's a great pattern, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. It might just end up in my Ravelry queue!

  3. I love the look of the poncho, and you have picked a lovely wool with the flecks.

  4. It looks great, and I hope it works out well for you. Me too, I often find it most difficult to knit/crochet a garment for myself that would look and fit well ....

  5. Your sweater is off to a wonderful start. The cable is so pretty.
I laughed when you said you worried about how the sweater might make you look. I always have the same worry! I will not make a vest for just that reason!

  14. That yarn looks gorgeous! I've used a few of those giant balls in my time and it's not so handy as a portable project! I had no idea Lidl did yarn, must start popping in there on my way home... (although maybe not, I get too distracted by the babery and sweets!)
