Perigord - France

As I said in my previous post we have had a busy month so far. The first week we spent down in the Perigord region of France. Based in a tiny hamlet we were able to get out and about

Sunday we visited Auberterre for its market.  A lively place but lots of Brits about, one of the problems in this area of France.  We are fairly antisocial when on holiday preferring to keep to ourselves, so English accents send us running in the opposite direction!

Monday we visited Bourdellies and Brantome 

Tuesday was the Jardins de Marqueyssac - a 2 hour drive away but worth the visit.  As we were close we popped into Sarlat, big mistake, so busy, took an age to park.  Left my phone in the car so couldn't take any photos.

Wednesday was Perigueux - market day and a very good lunch on the river

Thursday was Bergerac in the rain, which was a real shame

Friday we had a day chilling out at the house before heading back to La Ruche to pick up the boys for their week in the UK.  More on that in my next post …..

Here there and everywhere

Well hello, what a whirlwind this last three weeks has been.  A birthday, a holiday, a visit home, then back again and finally home.

We started off with Laurie's 7th birthday at La Ruche, spending three days there.  We then went down to the Perigord region of France for a week. Back to La Ruche for one night to collect the boys for a weeks holiday in the UK with their cousins.  Back to France again to take them home. Three days putting the gardens at the chateau back to rights and now finally home.  Phew......... Thank you to Peter for getting us all around safe and sound.

I have lots of photos to share.  Hardly any knitting achieved. A mountain of washing and housework but it will all get sorted in good time.

For now I will just leave you with a few photos and sort some more posts when I have time
