Firstly we took a wander to see the snowdrops and aconites and surveyed the house from the hill
We took a look around the old kitchens and pantry
The laundry
The dairy
The meat safe and game larder
The grounds and gardens
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, until next time
I did enjoy the tour, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBut that Copper,,, oh my!
What a fascinating place! Is that an oversized privit hedge contoured into an interesting shape? Fabulous! A local house here, 'Burton Agnes' has a month of woodland wandering which is also a feast of snowdrops, many, many different varieties too. Its always a joy to wander through their grounds in Febuary too. No aconites though and those there, look eqjually joyful!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue! Popping over from Field & Fen. The scale of the food operations is mind-boggling. How many people must have been working there, to produce, process, cook, do the laundry, wash the dishes, and on and on.
ReplyDeleteVery true, those were the days of the weekend house parties/shooting parties, I'm sure there was a small army behind the scenes. Thanks for popping by,love that you are Granny Sue, thats me too
