Its WIP Wednesday again

Greetings, its still raining here in the UK, but there is a promise of summer from the weekend; we will wait and see.  The weather being rough has meant that I'm getting plenty of knitting done.

Several people from last week's WIP post asked if I would write up the pattern for the hat I featured, without further ado here it is, along with a couple of variations

I am now making inroads into one of my WIP's  for Rufus, just the second sleeve to finish.  I really want to get all my WIP's out of the way as I'm starting to feel overwhelmed by them - 2 jumpers, 2 blankets, not too many by some people's standards but more than I'm comfortable with.

Reading - I'm still no last weeks' book too, as I keep falling asleep after a couple of pages.

WIP Wednesday, its been a while

Not much knitting has been done for the last month due to gardening and holidays.  Last night I sat down made a list of what I needed to get finished, started, or shelved.

A new WIP started last night due to running out of yarn on the project below.  Its

Design E - Baby Cardigans by Sirdar Spinning Ltd. Sirdar 301, Early Arrivals No. 2 which I'm knitting in Sublime Cotton Kapok, colour way Milkshake

Can't believe that I didn't get this one finished sooner - ran out of yarn with about 3" of sleeve to do.  More ordered

This is a couple of projects I'm planning for Rufus - knitted in Sirdar Denim Sport Aran and Cascade 220 Quatro. I'm a bit unsure of the Cascade as its 100% Peruvian Wool and not superwash, my problem is I only have 300grams so it needs to be something small.   I'm not sure my daughter will be happy with something that she can't chuck in the washer and dryer,  especially with the new baby due soon, so maybe I will do a rethink.

WIP Wednesday 2 May

Another Wednesday rolls around, the rain has stopped (for now), the sun is out (forgotten what it looked like).

My knitting goes on, I'm still working on my Morocco - back is finished and the front started

I have done a few more squares for the blanket

I found this website recently and plan to knit the following cute hat
 

Popped into my local charity shop this afternoon, picked up some more yarn and buttons - 440 grams of yarn, no idea what it is, but it will go in another of my many blankets (-:, cost me £3.00 and £3.25 for all the buttons

And last but not least.  The prospect of a new craft?  I got given a box of assorted cross stitch items, my mother in law had a rifle through, she took what she wanted. I have sorted some aida for either me or my eldest to use - she at least cross sititches! The remaining items I plan to take to my craft group tomorrow.  I'm sure someone can find a use for it. I like to spread the wealth....

With all the excitement of Blog Week, and trying to read/comment on all the posts, which is hard as blogger is blocked at work (-;  I nearly forgot WIP Wednesday.

I have a couple of WIP's - the first is my Morocco top, which I picked up last night, decided it was fair to cold and miserable for a summer top so.............

as my new Simply Knitting magazine was sat there, I leafed through and found a subscriber only blanket, knitted in different squares.  I have some very rough shetland wool in my stash, which I decided would do if mixed with something softer.  As I have bags of stuff from the charity which is unidentified I am teaming these up.  The blanket will do for picnics or in the garden, something  for me to pick up and knit when I feel like it.  SK are sharing the square patterns over the next 2 issues so this will be an ongoing project.

WIP Wednesday

another Wednesday comes around and I'm still working on my In the Mood cardigan and my Ten Stitch Twist. Nothing new has been started. I'm not sure I will press on with the socks, these will either go into hibernation or be frogged.

The In the Mood as you can see is coming along, back and sleeve completed, left front up to neck shaping. I would really like to have this out of the way by next Wednesday or at least Friday so I can show it off.

On the reading front - I am currently reading Sister by Rosamund Lupton which I am enjoying, then after that my book club read is The Elegance of Hedgehogs by Muriel Barbery, which apparently has nothing to do with prickly animals.  I sometime wonder if they give books odd titles just to make you pick them up.

Last night I went to the cinema with my youngest to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a very enjoyable feel good but thought provoking film.  Not sure I fancy going off to India in my twilight years, but it certainly looked better than some of the alternatives - old peoples retirement developments? Tell me why would you want to live with a load of other old people?  I hope I am able to stay in my own home for as long as possible, but even if I'm not I'm sure I would prefer to downsize and be in the community at large.  I'll let you know if and when the time comes.
