Sympathy is in short supply

Pied Wagtail visiting the bird table - well picking up the bits the starlings had dropped
Bored with my current WIP's, I decided to start some knitting for my niece who is due in April.
This pattern is the Lucy cardigan from the Patons Nursery Days booklet.  Knitted in Cygnet Kiddies Kaleidoscope Supersoft Double Knit. Simple lace pattern with a v-neck
Because the temperature is still in the minus range, though beautifully sunny,  root veggies ready to roast for some warming soup.  We have only ventured outside to replenish the wood supply.  We are both feeling rough still, my chest hurts from coughing and now my ears ache.  Its an effort to do very much, only put on a couple of loads of washing, and cooked some meals, luckily I had plenty of stuff in the fridge to whip up something quick
Audrey is enjoying having us around all day, especially to jump onto my warm sofa when I got up to make a drink.

Its funny, in 35 years of marriage we think this is the first time we have been ill together.  Good to have company but you don't get any sympathy

Guest Blogger: Audrey - its a hard life

Good evening all, yes its a hard life being a cat. I've found that the roof of Mum's car is the best place to be, warm, sunny and a perfect vantage point to admire her Wisteria. Its been a busy weekend trying to avoid the small person, especially now he is on the move more.  This weekend he bought a brightly coloured brick trolley to chase me with.  Let me tell you I kept out of the way, either down the garden or on Mum and Dad's bed. I hear that he is coming again in a couple of weeks, so I'll need to find somewhere to hide... any suggestions will be warmly welcomed. I really don't know how my half brother puts up with him!

Introducing Audrey

I'd like to introduce you to the 5th member of our family, Audrey or Poots as she is sometimes called.

This is Audrey helping me with the housework this morning. She soon moved when the vacuum cleaner came out! She was orginally named after Audrey Hepburn but soon got called Poots due to a not so endearing habit. If you've not read the Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisters then you'll not know why. It's a really good read, so take a look

I've add prices and sizes to the blog for anyone that is interested in the baby knits
Right off to make a start on the garden, have a good weekend
