Enjoying the first cup of tea

Yesterday evening we spent time sitting watching the rain in the garden.  The first time in 12 years that we have been able to sit indoors and actually see our garden - heaven.  I can see us spending lots of time in here.  Today I've been shopping for more soft furnishings. I still need to buy some side tables. My house is starting to look de-nuded, but that means I get to buy new for the house, but not until I have decorated each room )-:

A new week

After the excitement of last weeks' Knitting & Crochet Blog Week it feels a bit strange not to have a subject to blog about.  So I'll just have to wing it!

Did you have a lovely Mothers Day (UK) yesterday?  I did.  Two lovely cards with wonderful messages, books to read, a replacement Cordyline plant and a plaque for the door of the garden room, the words on which are perfect for what I plan to do with the room. Thank you girls.

We spent the day doing jobs around the garden, went to the tip with a van load of garden/barn rubbish, one lady passing me for the fourth time on the stairs to the garden waste skip said "look at the lovely way we are spending Mothers Day". I actually didn't mind as the bags of rubbish had been driving me mad. We had afternoon tea at Rachel's which was lovely, tea from china tea cups, fresh scones and homemade jam. A perfect day.

Lazy Friday afternoon

Jobs are done and the sun is out.....

Birds are chattering in the trees
Bees buzzing in the laurel hedge
Tea cups rattling on the tray
Knitting needles clicking
Pages rustling
Neighbour mowing
Cat alseep in a plant pot
Drone of traffic
Husband wheezing

and as the sun goes down

cork popping
glasses clinking

Wish every day could be like this, well maybe not the husband wheezing, but then if he wasn't he'd be at work, roll on retirement...........
