We have been fortunate to have 2 days of sunshine, yes, 2 days. The garden has been calling out to be tidied up and so we have made a start.
Peter started out with staining the replaced gate post and then cutting up a load of wood for the burner, got to stay toasty, the sun may be out but its cool in the shade.
This is what most of the borders look like - sorry isn't it?
This is part of one side which we started to sort this morning
We have been around the patio area too, these are some of the plants that are currently on flower, you will notice we have a large variety of Hellebores, I love them and you have the added joy of seeing what will come up as they cross pollinate each year. We trimmed off all of last years leaves so that the flowers can get their heads into the sun.

I feel so much better for having spent time out in the sunshine, even if my back is now complaining, and I know it will be hard to get out of bed in the morning. Another bonus of the sun and windy weather is that all our washing got dried outside too.
I'm now going to put the kettle on, make tea and get my knitting out.
Wow, can't believe it is already looking like spring at your house. We have lots of snow on the ground and frigid temps here. Your flowers are looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteRoses - in January/February? A bonus for all the gardening you do. You are certainly blessed with your plants coming into flower. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your garden as the year progresses.
ReplyDeleteSeeing flowering plants this time of year just makes me feel good. Many thanks to you and your back!
