Sunday Walk

We like a good walk.  Sometimes we don't feel like it.  Other times we are ready to go.  Yesterday I wasn't sure how I felt about a walk but once out it was enjoyable.  We started off in a fresh wind but by the time we got back coats had been discarded.  It was one of those days.

Our route took us through and out of the village along the road to Hemingford Abbots.  Along Common Lane where you can view the outsides of the mainly million pound homes.  There are some seriously lovely properties here.  Once onto the common we headed out towards the Godmanchester nature reserve where we picked up the Ouse Valley way and walked through the meadows and along to Houghton Mill lock.  We then turned right and headed back across Hemingford Meadow over the river bridge and back into the Abbots.  Too early for a pint at the Axe and Compass we then made our return to Hemingford Grey via the river meadow and home.  My phone tells me it was 6.2 miles, so not too shabby.

Here are a few photos taken along the way.
