I was reminded this morning that I hadn't done a round up of the weekend. It was busy one. Grandchildren, Festival, Party, Visitors of all kinds.
In no particular order
Party at the Yard in Stamford - brilliant venue for a children's party and great coffee and cake for the adults. They even have Sunday papers.

Knitting - Sunshine & Spots
Updated 25 June to add another hat
A little girl can never have too many hats, so to that end, I have knitted Miss J another one. This time its a canary yellow number.
This may just be my favourite of the three, what do you think?
As before - pattern is Fun in the Sun by Angela Turner - with modifications. Yarn Rico Design Essentials cotton DK

Knitting - Red Delicious
Whipped up another little hat yesterday. Same pattern, but I changed the brim for stocking stitch (I forgot it was supposed to be garter until nearly the end!!), though I like the effect.

Knitting - cuteness warning
Yesterday Rachel and I tried to find a sun hat for Jess that actually fitted her, that wasn't pink or white. She wanted something bright and cheery. As I had lots of cotton yarn left over (ok I ordered too much) from the cot blanket and cushion, I decided to knit one.
In this months' Love Knitting for Baby (June issue) there was a cute hat pattern - Fun in the Sun Bonnet by Angela Turner. This is my take on it. I left off the hat band and added my twist to it. Hope you like it. I actually shed a tear at how cute she looks in it.
I now have 3 more to knit to go with other outfits! Its a very quick knit so its not a problem and I am more than happy to do it

Family - 4
Rufus
today we wish you a very happy 4th birthday.
Its hard to believe that 4 years have passed so quickly.
I was there when you made your journey into the world,
unfortunately not as you took your first breathe;
but to hold you for the first time moments later was magical for me.
We have watched you grow into an independent little boy and are so very proud of you.
Our love goes with you on your continued journey in life
Have a wonderful day love Granny and Pops x x

Knitting - On the needles
Knitting is going very slowly right now. I have another Ten Stitch on the go and a sweater which I cast on yesterday at Monday group because I couldn't be bothered to drag along the blanket.
Pattern is Georgie from Patons Play Days
On Saturday it's our Gala Day at the Village Festival. I am entering the Village Craft and Produce Show, with 3 items of knitwear and 2 jars of jam - 1 Cherry and the other Blackberry & Apple (Granny jam as Ru calls it).
These are my entries, I guess I stand as good a chance as anyone so it will be fun to enter. I'll let you know how I get on.

Weekend - round up
Its a week since I blogged, I've been busy with family and stuff, not too much knitting done either.
Friday I went with our eldest to the Gardeners World Live Show at the NEC Birmingham. I took a few photos, then realised that I had left my spare battery at home so not too many pictures to share.
We listened to a talk by Monty Don, presenter of Gardeners World and owner of Long Meadow. A very interesting talk and he was very open about his life and work.
As the boys were staying with their Nana and my son in law was away, I stayed over night and we went out for dinner to the Mad Turk in Stamford. Lovely meal in a quaint surroundings, we ate in the garden which was great and it was lovely to share a meal and talk in peace. All in all a lovely day out.
Saturday we collected the boys and came back home, leaving Pops with the grandchildren and then went into town to get birthday presents for Ru who will be 4 this week. Time is going so fast and its hard to believe he will be starting school in September.
Going for a hat vibe this weekend....
I am working on a Ten Stitch which has been claimed for Jess, really must get some photos posted of that. I cast on a sweater for Laurie this afternoon too so plenty of items to work on.
