My previous blog post has got a great response on here and on Facebook, thank you very much for all your lovely comments. Consensus is that you want me to continue blogging. That pleases me very much as it's made me realise I'm not talking to myself! I have replied to everyone, either on the comments page (does anyone actually get these?) or via email if I have your address. There are still lots of you out there that are "noreply-comment@blogger.com" so it means I can't reply to you personally. So what have we been up to since last I wrote? The weather has been amazing here in the UK, hotter than most of Europe. It is however, due to break tonight but it does mean that the garden will get a water. The garden is looking great and whilst it's a lot of work it is worth it. I've not done any knitting, but have got some reading in. (not sure why the text has changed size)
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new grandson, due day tomorrow, but he'll come when he's ready.
Your photos are amazing, the bright light has bleached the colour from mine. We had quite a bit of rain earlier and it has subsided to a drizzle now, I have gained a couple of hours extra sewing time now that I do not need to water.
I rarely miss one of your blog posts, Sue, but hadn't seen the last one, so I will chime in here about blogging. I love your blog! Your knitting is always so inspirational, and your garden pictures so beautiful. And I have enjoyed watching your grandchildren as they grow up, and how loved they are by you and your husband.
It's interesting you should bring up the possibility of quitting blogging at this time, because I have been thinking of doing the same. I haven't made a final decision yet, and promised myself to give it a few more months. My reasons are much the same as yours. I have seen others speculate that smart phones are partially responsible for fewer comments being left on blog posts. Many people are now reading the blogs they follow on their phones now, and it is difficult to leave a comment from a phone. Instagram is another possible culprit, for a couple of reasons. The first is it is so much easier. You don't need to spend time composing anything, just thinking of a quick sentence or two to accompany your picture. Plus it fits in much better with the smart phone use. It would be next to impossible to blog from a smart phone even if one wanted to. I have to confess to quite liking Instagram.
The lack of email notification when a blog comment is made has become an issue in the last month or two. Many others have commented on it as well. Plus, now when I a comment on a blog I get an email telling me that the email was undeliverable to the recipient. I think this is happening to many people when they leave comments on blogs, at least on Blogger blogs. Since this started I have been leaving fewer comments simply because I find it annoying to then have to go clean out my inbox of all the bounced email responses. I wonder if others might not be holding back as well.
What really keeps me going in the blogging world is all the great friends I have met. For now I am going to hang in there, and I am so glad you have decided to as well.

Thanks for leaving a comment, they are always appreciated, whether good or bad!! I like to respond to comments with an individual reply, so make sure your e-mail address is visible in your profile. I can't send a response to "no-reply" bloggers.
