Thats more like it!!

This evening we start the wedding setup, so exciting......

I just checked the weather forecast for Saturday and it now looks like this

and from 4pm this

We may get a shower tomorrow at some point, but with that we can cope

The garden has had its final tweak, grass trimmed and borders checked, the willow is shedding leaves due to the wind, rain and hail this week so I'll need to do some sweeping but other than that it all looks great.

So without further ado I will go back to my list and see you on the other side of the wedding, bye bye

8 Days to go

With the wedding just around the corner, all eyes are on the weather.

Our forecast for next week is rain everyday in varying degrees......... I have laid awake since 3am mulling over the possibilities of how to cope with 70 guests in the event of rain at our garden wedding........  we have plenty of cover so thats not really a problem, its just the getting in between places........ wellies, umbrellas, small children, wet feet..........

But do you know, I actually decided hey it doesn't really matter, Rachel will be marrying the man she loves and that's the most important thing.  The wedding will be beautiful anyway and they say its lucky if it rains on your wedding day.

So note to guests, bring your boots, umbrellas, coats, anything that makes you comfortable in the wet....... Hopefully they won't be needed.......... but it would be great if we could at least get setup in the dry!

Knitting another shawl

I just popping in to share my latest finished shawl.  I had to do this one as the one I made the other week has been hijacked by the bride-to-be (very happy with that).  Same yarn as it goes well with my outfit.

This pattern is December Little Shawl.  Yarn is Sirdar Sunseeker The Linen Touch (discontinued now).  The yarn was a gift from a friend who was clearing out her late mother's stash a while ago.  There was 500 grams in total and its made two shawls and I still have 2 x 50 gram balls leftover, enough to make something small.

So happy to make good use of this.  I also have the same yarn in a different colourway.

Right must get going, I have a list of things to accomplish over the next 10 days......eeeeek!!  There will be so many posts to share once this wedding is over.  Its nearly killing me keeping everything under wraps.

Jess takes control of the camera

For 14 months Jess seems to have got her Daddy's knack with the camera. What do you think?

and how cute is this picture

April in pictures

Another month has come and gone, its been a busy month where we have been working on the garden, getting ready for the wedding which we will be setting up in 3 weeks......eek!!

May is gearing up to be a very busy month, one where we take care of the boys for a week whilst their parents are away. Two concerts. A wedding. Add to that keeping on top of the garden. Having a new loo  fitted (just the right time for a leak, especially as this is the loo that will be used by the guests).  I am relieved to see that June is looking to be fairly barren and that I am happy with, I think we will need the break!!

Knitting Thursday

Its finished.  Details are here.  Just realised I called that post Knitting Wednesday but it was actually Tuesday! I used odd buttons as I didn't have 6 of anything I liked.  Think they look ok, there are 3 of each so I just alternated them.

Knitting Wednesday (actually Tuesday)

This is what I am currently working on in between wedding stuff......

Pattern - Marriner Yarns #11055
Yarn - King Cole DK
Size 0-6 months

I did the sleeves plain as holey sleeves and tiny baby fingers don't mix well

This was going to be a feather and yarn scarf, decided it wasn't quite right so rather than frog it I have split it and found a pattern to make a childs yoked cardigan.  Hoping this will work out so watch this space.

The garden is looking pretty right now....

Thats all from me today
