Weekend - all change

This weekend wasn't the one I had expected to have.  I was due to attend my postponed (by me) Photography for Knitters workshop but this was cancelled due the tutor being ill.  It will happen at some point.  Anyway I had a bit of a play on my own today, trying to take some arty shots.  Not really sure if I've succeeded!

I also had a sort out of my button jars, I'm going to run out of space on my shelves before long.  There is something very soothing about sorting buttons.

Whilst talking about sorting, I had a mad panic this morning.  I decided to have a tidy up of my computer, deleting photo folders that had been synced to Google to clear some disk space, it was only as I had done about 6 folders that I noticed a check box was ticked for REMOVE ONLINE COPIES TOO.............No No No.  Yes, they had gone and also the link to photos on my blog....... No No No.  Feeling a bit sick I sat for a few minutes then thought, check the Recycle Bin....... saved there they all were, so I restored and then resynced, photos saved.  However, I need to go through the blog and find the posts involved, I've found a few and sorted those.  If you happen to come across a post with photos missing please give me a shout so I can sort them.  So lesson to self, before you delete anything check twice.

Yikes another month has come and gone.  What did we do last month? Quite a bit of knitting, our trip to Southwold, baking and crafting with the grandkids, and some preserving.

Now it's December, what do you have planned?  I have several Christmas meals out, a Simply Red concert in Birmingham with the girls.... exciting. Visits and shopping.  A busy month. Have fun with whatever you are doing.

WIP Wednesday

Hi all its Wednesday again.  Since last week I've not done too much knitting. The hooded cardigan has just the sleeves to go, it looks a bit on the big side but it measures as the pattern so must be right! The pattern is Knitted Hooded Jacket from Twilleys of Stamford.  I'm doing 12-18 month size which is for a 22" chest but knits to 26", so a jacket rather than a cardigan.  Yarn is King Cole Big Value DK

The cardigan for me has been frogged and I have started another with the same yarn.  Forgot to photograph it, so this will have to wait til next time.  I only have about 2" done anyway

So what have I been doing if not knitting?  Well, I've been reading I'm stuck into the latest C J Sansom - Lamentation, its the next instalment of the Shardlake books.

I love historical books so this is perfect.  I try to read a bit before I go to sleep but this is such a hefty tome that you run the risk of concussion if you fall asleep!!!!

As well as reading I have been playing with the settings on my camera trying shooting RAW rather than fine which gives you jpegs.  There are some noticeable differences, but they take so much longer to download and render.

I took some bark photos, I'd love your comments on what some of them look like...... keep it clean!

Try to keep cool as we sizzle in the heat, currently 28c (82f) in the shade.  Off to make a cooling drink

Another month has come and gone, its been a busy month where we have been working on the garden, getting ready for the wedding which we will be setting up in 3 weeks......eek!!

May is gearing up to be a very busy month, one where we take care of the boys for a week whilst their parents are away. Two concerts. A wedding. Add to that keeping on top of the garden. Having a new loo  fitted (just the right time for a leak, especially as this is the loo that will be used by the guests).  I am relieved to see that June is looking to be fairly barren and that I am happy with, I think we will need the break!!

Something new

I am trying to find some inspiration for blog posts.  You may notice they have been a bit thin on the ground lately.  I have decided that I will share at the end of each month, a pictorial of that month by way of random photos or a collage.  As we are now into the third month.  March already!!  Here are photos from January and February.

First January

Then February, looks like a did quite a bit of knitting

I have also been working on some projects that I can't share for now but will be revealed in the fullness of time.  I am very excited about them, but also very happy that they are completed........ pressure off!
