It's been a while

I've not participated in WIP Wednesday for a little while.  Not that I've not been knitting, just that I've not been in a position to share anything. You can always check out my knitting page tab to see what I've been up to.


I still have Laurie's ten stitch on the go and the frilled dress which I may or may not frog, its come up too big and will require some fiddling to sort, so it may just be easier to rip it back and use a different yarn.
So what am I working on now?  This pattern was given to me recently along with the yarn I'm using.  The pattern is Peter Pan P1093, which covers size Age 1-11 and also includes a sweater version.

The yarn is Tawny Twist n Twirl Hi-lights in pale pink - it's an acrylic double knit yarn.  Not particularly exciting, but fine for this cardigan

I am reading Lunch in Paris, enjoyable read with good recipes too. What they say:

Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard is the story of how the author, an American student living in London, fell in love with her French husband and his country's cuisine. While she writes a good bit about her experiences with food, there are plenty of life's other aspects. Next on the bedside table is Toby's Room, set in the first world war, hubby says I will enjoy it.

Pretty in pink

What a wonderful weekend we had weather wise, apart from the spot of rain on Saturday afternoon it was wall to wall sunshine - 25C in the shade.  I spent two very pleasant afternoons in the garden with my knitting.  A reward for jobs achieved earlier in the day.

As previously mentioned I didn't sleep well on Sunday night/Monday morning so cast on another Super Natural Stripes.  This colour combination reminds me of ice cream.  I decided to make this one with short sleeves and think it works really well.  I just knitted 4 rows in stocking stitch, then 4 rows garter stitch. This is a great pattern, very quick to do.  I think this will be my "go to" pattern

Someone else enjoyed the sunshine yesterday -

The sunshine has also bought the Wisteria on too, still lots of buds to break, but we are dull/cooler today (good thing as I was at work, nothing worse than being shut in when the sun is out), so it will slow things down.

I still have two WIP's on the go, but neither a doing it for me, so plan to cast on something new, lets face it I have plenty of stash to get through.

Not sleeping so I'll knit

I went to bed exhausted last night (lots of early mornings and restless nights), tossed and turned, tossed and turned, woke at 2am, tossed and turned, got up at 2:30am, came downstairs, went on Facebook, Ravelry, read a couple of blogs, then picked up my needles and cast on another Super Natural Stripes. This one is knitted in Sirdar Supersoft Aran, just decided on 2 colours, soft pink and cream.  I plan to do the garter stitch hem,cuffs and bands in the cream.

Time now is 7:04am, no sound from upstairs, its a holiday today so time for a lay-in ha ha...... me thinks its time for tea

Family and friends

This weekend has been about family, friends, food, weather and BEER

I should have taken my camera when Judy, Rufus and I went over to the pub to check on precedings.........., they left home at 1:30, got back at 8:45 and the pub is a 2 minute walk from the house.  They made short work of chilli and rice and I'm thankful that we never saw it again.

Rufus decided that 4.45am was a good time to wake in search of lost bunnies, managed to get him back to sleep til 6am.  Pops went in to see him and the first thing Rufus said to him was "you're a boozer", can't imagine who told him that!

We spent a quiet afternoon in the garden, enjoying the sunshine.  I finished off this cardigan which is  Super Natural Stripes by Fawn Pea - free on Ravelry knitted in Sirdar Click Aran with Wool

 

We still have another day to enjoy as its a holiday weekend in the UK, the weather is looking good, so we may get out on the Harley.
