Walking through the week

As you may have guessed if you’ve been around for a while we like to walk. Life’s not just about knitting here. This week we have been out every day, the weather has been reasonably good, windy most days but dry apart from one or too brief unexpected showers. Today though wetter and no sun but we still went out. Our average mileage over the week has been 5.6 miles per day. We plan on trying to up our game, all in the hopes of getting some weight off but somehow it never seems to happen.

Here are some photos from our week - Monday Heacham to Snettisham and back 7.4 miles

Tuesday just a quick local walk 2.7 miles as I had a friend visiting

Wednesday - 4.5 miles Godmanchester nature reserve - one of three kites, the other two were blurry

Thursday 6.4 miles - walk around Godmanchester Common watching the rain clouds!

Friday 9.2 miles - Hilton, Fenstanton, St Ives - only took this photo today. Lots of snowdrops here and daffodils will be following along soon

Saturday 5.2 miles - Houghton Common walk - blossom peaking through by the river

Sunday - 3.7 miles - Hemingford Common walk- no photos, grey and miserable, needed both hands to keep the hood up on my coat!!

We think we need to travel further a field for some more challenging terrain, living in the fens is very flat so not much in the way of inclines etc.

  1. It must help to have so many different options and walking paths. I have mixed terrain, but walking on roads has it's challenges.
