All things French

Hello, here we are on our last evening in France before heading home. Thought I would do a round up of the last two weeks, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind, lots of noise, fun, changeable and unseasonable weather, but overall a great family get together.

After 20 months our daughters and grandchildren finally got to meet again. We arrived in Trouville Sur Mer on 26th July, Laurie's 9th birthday. The boys didn’t know we were all coming so it was a great surprise.  We rented a house for 5 days.

We managed four of the five days on the beach and everyone had a good time in and out of the sea.  Lots of good food too. We also celebrated Tim’s birthday too.

After Trouville we went back to the Chateau for a few days. Did filming with the Chateau DIY team and had a bbq to celebrate the completion of the gite. We also tackled some gardening whilst the men fenced the gite garden.

Next, we left Rebecca and Tim and headed to Sille Guilliame - Sille/coco Plage (lake) with the three youngest grandchildren. Rufus went camping with his friends and his Wednesday club for a week. We had two mobile homes on a campsite.  We only managed one lake beach day then the weather turned, but Rachel and Stu took the children out on the lake and they had great fun (we went out for lunch)

We all went back to the Chateau on Friday Rachel had been due to return to the UK but due to quarantine changes stayed until this morning thus avoiding confinement.

We spent the weekend gardening and generally helping out where needed. Rufus was back on Friday evening and in much demand. He left again this morning for a cycling camping trip!  He’s certainly having a fun summer.

All in all we had an action packed two weeks. So great that our family got to spend some quality time together after so long. Let’s hope the next family get together won’t take so long.

Going back for some peace and quiet…… that would be no as we have Jess and Gus for three days!
