Ferry Meadows Walk

Firstly the latest off the needles.  This band was taken from the Melody Chemo Hat - you can find it on Ravelry.  I used 4 strands of 4 ply held together which gives a deep and cosy head band.  It’s an easy 4 row pattern

Yesterday we took ourselves over to Peterborough to go to a toy warehouse for some Christmas inspiration for the grandkids, we got none.  Oh goodness what a lot of rubbish there is to fill cupboards.  The girls aisle was the worst, wall to wall pink!

After that experience we decided to needed to get back to the natural world so headed to Nene Park - Ferry Meadows.  I think I have been once before but it was a long time ago. As you can see it wasn’t a great day but we got lunch in the cafe and then walked the lake paths round.  All paved so clean underfoot which was good as I didn’t have my walking boots just low heeled suede boots - wasn’t expecting a walk. Half way round it started to mizzle which wasn’t great but we didn’t get too wet and at least we had proper coats on. There were lots of paths off which we didn’t do so an excuse to go back again another time. It makes a change to walk somewhere different

Today after a wet start and a quick shop, we took ourselves off suitably booted, which was just as well as muddy pathway season has started. It doesn’t take much wet and foot traffic to turn the compacted earth to squishy mud.

I started a hat for Peter yesterday. This is the Trail 4 hat also on Ravelry.  It has a double thickness brim which should be cosy.  I will get this finished today then cast on that second sleeve.  I would like to finish the cardigan this weekend so I can concentrate on more headbands and hats.

We have no weekend plans as Gus has contracted Covid from school, he’s doing ok just a cough but no visitors. The rest of the family are testing daily, parents are vaccinated, all ok so far, fingers crossed it remains so.

Enjoy your weekend x
