Going over old ground

We took ourselves on a walk today.  It was a fairly regular one before we moved house. Starting in St Ives (rather than Swavesey) and walking out along the river to Holywell then the Ouse Valley Way, towards the Pike & Eel marina Needingworth, crossing the river at Brownhill Lock to continue along the river past Over, Swavesey, RSPB Fen Drayton Lakes and finally back to St Ives. 9.6 miles. I’m glad we took the car into St Ives otherwise that would have added a further 4 miles to the route. We did pop into the Farmers Market before heading off so at least our shopping was left in the car.

Pretty houses along the front in Holywell

Buttercup galore

Home again, bit stiff and footsore as it was quite uneven in places. We’ve walked a fair few miles this week, 45 miles actually. The seven day average according to my phone is 6.4 miles per day. No wonder I’m tired but not bad for two well over 60’s.

Now to plan where we are heading this coming week
