That’s the weekend

As predicted it rained on Saturday. We went shopping regardless. Parking just outside of town we walked in armed with an umbrella each. We parted company with Gus and Pops and headed to the market to get coffee and cake. We managed to find an empty stall to shelter under so at least we didn’t get wet.

Fortified we hit the shops.  Jess had an idea of what she wanted to buy.  We started off in Gap but that proved uneventful.  Next stop Boots for a new hairbrush.  Then M&S which was very disappointing apart from knickers and socks.  Then to Next where we found some rainbow trainers.

By this time the rain had eased and the town was getting busy. Uncomfortable busy.  Coats, umbrellas and masks don’t make for an enjoyable shopping experience.

We met up with Pops and Gus and headed for John Lewis where the boys rode the lift and escalator!! Whilst us girls shopped for dresses. I’m glad to say that they had some really nice clothes, the kind that don’t look slutty on a 7 year old.  Jess managed to choose three dresses, a skirt and a pair of shorts.  We picked up a shirt and shorts for Gus not that he was in the least bit interested.

We left town and headed back to the cars stopping for a pint and fries at The Castle on the way.

I can honestly say shopping in Covid times is no pleasure, and I won’t be in a hurry to go again anytime soon.

Jess in one of her dresses.  I love this one, she suits blue.

Sunday, we waved goodbye to the Harley this morning. It was hard.......

We then took a 7 mile walk

  1. Jess looks good in her new dress. At least you and Peter have great memories and adventures with the Harley. Take care!!
