Our youngest grandchildren are 7 and just coming up 5. Today we met at a local pub for an early birthday lunch for Peter. Those children walked a 9.1 mile round trip and the only complaint was that they didn’t get to go to the park!
This being the first Sunday after lockdown was eased we were worried that lunch in the garden might be difficult but it was ok, a bit chilly as our table was in the shade but good. The children had plenty of others to play with and everyone was spaced nicely apart.
We walked back with them to St Ives so our round trip was 9.7 miles.
We are now enjoying the last of the sun in the back garden with a jug of rose spritzer and some snacks. The end of a perfect - normal’ish day
Wish Peter a Happy Birthday for me. Seem to me the year goes by pretty fast. That was a nice long walk. xo
