We woke to sunshine, frost and a FaceTime with the boys in France. What better way to start the day. They were full of chocolate, which wasn’t a surprise. Later we received videos of them cutting the grass, Laurie with a petrol mower which he managed to start no problem and Rufus the large sit on. His legs are now long enough to reach the foot controls. Let’s hope they continue to enjoy the job, it’s a way to earn pocket money and one less job for the parents.
We took our new walk today, 10.2 miles. It was so lovely and peaceful, and we only passed 14 people in total. The route takes you out of the village across the old and new A14, then turns right (this is the new bit) towards Offord Cluny or Graveley. We chose to walk a circular route, as going on to either village would have added a further 3 and 4 miles respectively round trip, and to be honest this was more than enough. Perhaps when the pubs are open we can stop for lunch and break up the journey, but we made do with a picnic today.
As you can see the walk takes you mainly over and around fields. You have to cross one main road, but the traffic wasn’t too bad. Maybe busier in the week.
That was quite a walk. Glad you talked to the boys in France. Happy Easter !
