Lockdown 3 - day 19

Saturday and it’s grey today. We went prepared with wellies in our rucksacks to walk to Houghton and the water had gone down sufficiently to walk across without them, typical!

Lovely to see the snowdrops and aconites peeking amongst the foliage

Lots of flooding through the Thicket, quite a few trees down, guessing their root systems finally gave in. This area is damp but there’s been so much standing water plus high winds

We got home just before our first snowfall, yes that was it. We never get a lot but I was looking forward to a bit more!! At least a snowballs worth. There is more in the forecast for later but I won’t hold my breath

Family members are starting to get their first vaccines which is good news. Various reactions to it but all thankful. I expect we will be a long way off getting it unless we sign up for a “short notice, end of day, we need to use this vaccine “ list which most surgeries and vaccine centres are doing. Worth thinking about

Hope you are having a good Saturday
