Lockdown 3 - day 29

I beat Blogger today, I selected my photos in reverse order and got them put in correctly. Little things.

Our day started with a trip to Morrison’s, we thought we would change supermarkets this week just to add a bit of variety. Let’s face it you have to get it where you can.

A bit more time spent on the puzzle and then after lunch we donned our wellies and headed out.

The river is still running high and well over it banks, we had hoped to walk over to Houghton Mill but even with wellies it was too high. Instead to headed for the common towards Godmanchester but took a side walk through the fields. It was a bit hairy in places and then we got to the gate to the lane and it was running like a river. Turn back?  No he ploughed on I kept well back making sure it was safe, no point in us both getting wet?!  As it happens it was fine if you kept to the edge and then crossed to a high spot. As you can see after we came out another couple tried it in the opposite direction. We are all mad but we did stay dry. We then walked the perimeter of the common which was very soggy but it was good to have foot ware that kept us dry rather than worrying that the mud would go over the top of the walking boots. Mind you wellies aren’t the best for walking in (5.7 miles) and we will pay for it later.

We are having burgers for dinner this evening, quick and easy. We got some lovely big mushrooms to go with them and maybe some salad on the side.  You would think with all the walking we do that we would be getting some weight off but it doesn’t seem to happen. Must be our age ......

  1. Great photos. It sure is flooded there! I feel sorry for the owner of that house. That was a nice long walk you took. Were not in lock down , but no one is going any where. Too contagious out there, now with the new strain of virus from Africa . Thanks for sweater pattern. Just got done copying it. Stay safe!
